Background story...

Anya Hindmarch fell in love with handbags at the age of 19 whilst studying in Italy, drawing inspiration from the chic Florentine women.

Back in the UK she was commissioned by Harpers & Queen to design a contemporary leather bag, the Ebury, an instant hit amongst London's fashion pack, which financed the start of her business. Even today, she continues to name her bags after famous London streets and the classic Ebury remains one of Anya's best selling bags.

In 1999 Anya Hindmarch launched a diffusion line, the Blue Label collection of bags and wash bags printed with quirky and hilarious images. Today the range includes canvas totes of all sizes alongside seasonal accessories such as espadrilles, bikinis, t-shirts , gloves, hats, umbrellas and the softest cashmere tops and cardigans.

In 2001 Anya Hindmarch launched the the charity promotion Be a Bag the bespoke service that offers you the opportunity to have your personal photographs transposed onto a bag. A tearaway success, Be A Bag is mirrored across the globe and continues to attract queues of customers around the block at each launch. Most recently, was the launch of the Anya Hindmarch shoe collection. A timeless style and lasting quality - a vintage twist or quirky detail found in each design.

Today you will find Anya Hindmarch in most of the world's elegant boutiques and leading department stores as well as standalone stores in New York, LA, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
