When founding David Design, David Carlson set out to spread his ideas and vision on rejuvenating the image and tradition of Scandinavian design and quality.
From the start David Design has kept its own special profile - with an emphasis on smart, understated, conscious, humane, comfortable and modern. Fifteen years on David Design is seeing the effects of their efforts.In 1988 David Design opened its first store in Malmˆ. In December 2000, David Design opened their second store, hitting Stockholm with a shop and showroom in the very heart of the design area.
This was the first step of an international expansion of the David Design shop concept, which contains an assortment of contemporary furniture, interior decoration products, cook shop, books, clothes, music and an espresso bar. Following this, in 2002, a David Design shop was opened in one of the most fashionable streets in Tokyo.
David Design work in three major fields they have a furniture collection that is sold in 23 different countries and they act as an agent, representing companies in Sweden. David Design's own production line is based on contemporary Swedish design which creates a mixed accessible collection. Furniture and objects from other leading international and Swedish producers can also be found in the stores and David Design works with well-known Swedish and international designers like Karim Rashid and Eero Koivisto.
David Design want to create a relaxed and unpretentious meeting point for their customers. Their stores have a mix of interesting books about design, architecture, travel, food, sport and gardening. Some of the best chill-out lounge music helps you relax while clothes from Pia WallÈn (who they represent as distributors worldwide) and Koi-Living among others make the perfect mix for the global conscious city life.
