Kevin McCloudÌs office and production is based in the Mendip Hills in Somerset where their extraordinary blend of skills are winning orders for some of the most exciting work around.
Dragon Works has all the talent required to complete commissioned pieces of the highest order. On site at Dragon Works they have a forge, a gilding and finishing studio, an electrical and electronic workshop and a full design facility. In addition to these ranges, Dragon Works specialises in carefully researched historic lighting from the Dark Ages to the early 18th century in iron, wood, pewter and brass. All their work embodies the highest level of craftsmanship and care, exercising these skills in one-off pieces, working for historic bodies, private individuals, cathedrals and hotels.
To add a final touch in lighting for historic interiors and creating authentic period atmosphere, McCloud Lighting install their patented flickering candle, Kinesis, in their own and other peoplesÌ luminaries. Kinesis is an extraordinary electric light source that faithfully imitates the flickering of a live flame, such as a candle. Driven by electronics and uncannily realistic, Kinesis is the ultimate in atmospheric illumination: they have already installed it in some of the most prestigious historic buildings in Britain, such as the Shakespeare Birthplace, which is exclusively lit with Kinesis, and the effect is indistinguishable from candle lighting.
