Molton Brown started life in 1973, when as a famous Mayfair hair studio, they began creating natural preparations for their discerning international clientele.

Molton Brown has benefited from the creative vision of Dale Daxon Bowers. Dale, a fully qualified chemist, brought to Molton Brown a passionate desire to challenge the conventional wisdom of the time, and put in place practices and philosophies which remain at the heart of Molton Brown.

The evolution of Molton Brown into the internationally acclaimed brand it is today has been achieved through a responsible approach to our customers and the world we live in, using natural plant-orignated ingredients and safe science; no over-claim or superficiality; no Third World cosmetic manufacturing.

We have never tested on animals, used any animal extracts and where possible their packing has been kept to an absolute minimum. Molton Brown revel in their reputation for creating products without artificial fragrances or high levels of preservatives which can cause irritation.

From our product design through to the retail environment, the feeling is one of understatement. Each Molton Brown emporium is staffed by experienced lifestyle advisers and professional make-up artists, where customers may browse freely in relaxed surroundings, playing for hours with products on open counters.
Their emblem, The Lotus Flower, is highly significant to them - like our products, it responds to the 24 hour clock, opening at first light and slowly closing as daylight fades. Molton Brown present themselves as more than a product or philosophy, but as an unique experience creating holistic products for both the mind and body.
