Sophie Hancock set up Light Locations in 2001, and it now boasts a diverse range of inspiring interiors and exteriors.

Locations are carefully chosen and selected for their distinctive features, ambience and sublime space. At present these include apartments, country houses, commercial venues and outside venues.

Sophie joined us for a CoffeeBreak...

QIt has been said that Light Locations is one of the best location agencies around. What do you believe makes Light Locations so popular?

AI think its because I choose my locations carefully and offer something different and also because we are good value. We are always willing to help people out with their budgets!

QWhat inspired you set up your company, Light Locations?

AI worked for an agency and assisted photographers for three years, but came to the decision that I didn't want to be a photographer. At this point I really didn't know what to do, but I did know that I wanted to do something within the industry. A friend asked me to look at his house one day, it was an amazing house and so inspiring that, after seeing it, I thought it would be great to start up my own location business and the following week I started Light Locations!

QApart from photographers and stylists, who else uses your locations?

AMagazines, PR companies, catalogues, shops, all sorts!

QWhat do you enjoy most about running your Location business?

AVisiting the locations, taking the pictures and the satisfaction in knowing that it's mine!

QAre you on the lookout for any particular types of location?

AI am actually! I'm looking for some unusual places in London at the moment: an old caravan, a tree house and a swimming pool.

QDo you help advise location owners on how to present their properties?

AYes, I do help location owners to get the best out of their location. It is important that the locations that we represent are always clean, tidy and clutter free!

QAre there any current trends that make certain locations more popular than others?

AI think, at the moment, people love to shoot in unusual spaces, especially the outside venues, but the more popular locations are the most versatile ones.

QHave you used your own home as a location?

ANot yet! Although we have thought about it!

QWhich are a couple of shops you enjoy visiting and why?

A'Flirty' my local flower shop in Kensal Rise. They do beautiful, simple flowers. I can't walk by without going in! I also love browsing around antique and junk shops. I've just been to a great junk shop in North Wales and couldn't resist bringing back a table , which had to be tied to the roof of the my car! 'C Rassells' is another favourite, a garden centre in Earls Court. It's so quiet and peaceful and it has such beautiful plants - another place I can't visit without spending a fortune!

QWhat are you reading at the moment?

AVery boring photography magazines, as I am about to buy a digital camera.

QWhat's on your shopping list?

AA plane ticket to Nice!
