Amanda Wakely is one of Britain's most successful fashion designers in the international arena. Since her label launched in 1990, Amanda has forged an inimitable reputation for designing innovative, naturally elegant, wearable luxury.

Her many A-list fans, including Elizabeth Hurley, Jennifer Lopez, Joely Richardson, Queen Rania of Jordan and Nigella Lawson, favour her chic simplicity.

Indeed, her philosophy of 'simple ideas expressed strongly' has marked out Amanda's distinctive niche in the world's luxury market. Her achievements in fashion design have received much-coveted industry recognition - she was awarded the British Fashion Award for Glamour in 1992, 1993 and 1996 and her collection, which shows each year in London, Milan, Paris and New York is now stocked in more than 50 stores around the world. She also has her own flagship store, Amanda Wakely, in London and various concessions around the UK.

In addition to this, Amanda has just launched a fine jewellery collection, working with semi-precious and precious stones. In July 2004 Wakely will launch an eponymous fragrance reinforced by a large advetising campaign. Amanda also designs a capsule diffusion collection, Elements/Amamda Wakely, for the Littlewoods mail-order catalogue, and in 1998 she designed the work wear uniforms for the 60,000 strong BT workforce.

A key part of Amanda's working life includes supporting a number of charities, in particular those dealing with women's health. She has co-chaired the committee for the Fashion Targets Breast Cancer Appeal since 1996, which has now raised in excess of £4 million. She has also pledged her support to such charities as Action on Addiction, NSPCC Full Stop Campaign and The Red Cross.

In addition to the forthcoming jewellery collection, Amanda will also present her first ever Wedding Workshop in February 2004. In parternship with leading events organiser Johnny Roxburgh, from The Admirable Crichton, and supported by international champagne, cosmetic and haircare companies.

In May 2000, the company was acquired by ICD Ltd (International Clothing Designs Ltd). With the strength of ICD behind the Amanda Wakely brand, an ambitious expansion strategy has begun. Leading interior designer David Collins was commissioned to redesign the retail space at 80 Fulham Road, London and Pentagram the international multi disiplinary design group was commissioned to design the new Amanda Wakely brand identity.
