Marc Newson is one of the world's most accomplished and influential designers of his generation.
Renowned for innovation and creativity Newson has worked across a wide range of design disciplines to create furniture, a bicycle, consumer goods, time pieces, restaurant interiors and the interior of a private jet. His customers are as varied as Alessi, Capellini and even Apple Computers.

Newson started experimenting with furniture design as a student and, after graduating in 1984, was awarded a grant from the Australian Crafts Council and staged an exhibition featuring the Lockheed Lounge. Japanese entrepeneur, Teruo Jkurosake, offered to put his designs into production.
 His labels can be found on Helice lamps for Flos, packaging for Shisheido's Basala perfume, and watches from the Pod Watch Company. Among his designs for interiors are trendy restaurant's such as London's Coast and Manchester's Mash and Air. In addition, his work is exhibited at New York's Museum of Modern Art and London's Design Museum. Although Newson's products are often targeted at an elite market, he feels that even designs for the mass market will need to become more creative to satisfy the increasingly sophisticated needs of the consumer.
 Since forming Marc Newson Ltd with his partner Benjamin De Haan he has since designed mass manufactured glassware for Littala, kitchen and bathroom accessories for Alessi, and household objects for Magis, including the best-selling Dish Doctor dish rack and Rock doorstop. Current projects include a camera for a Japanese company and a major residential development.
 Newson's concepts start using traditional hand sketches. These concepts are brought to life with just a few pencil strokes, are then transferred to Mechanical Desktop where measurements and technical details are precisely determined. Within hours, the sketches are transformed to a full 3D CAD model, including physical properties such as mass and volume.
