Inspired by his great-great-great grandfather, James launched Love Cocoa in July 2016 built on the principles of the ethical company Cadbury originally was. Today, Love Cocoa gain first listings at Fortnum & Mason's, 100 years after they stocked the original Cadbury products.
"I created Love Cocoa with the purpose of making great tasting chocolate bars here in Great Britain, in a way that's loved by you, the planet, and its people."
Love Chocolate’s mission is to make chocolate consumption more sustainable. James emphaises that the mainstream chocolate industry is shrinking our rainforests and seriously contributing to global warming. The problem begins right at the source: with the farming of the humble cocoa bean. Love Cocoa aim to tackle this problem head on by planting one tree for every product sold.
Love Cocoa are working with farmers in Kenya to plant one tree for every product sold. By the end of 2021. Love Cocoa had planted 1 million trees, and in 2022, they will continue their partnership with trees for the future.
