A beautiful market basket, handmade over three days with elephant grass and vegetable dyes. We just love these Diamond Market Baskets and we're not the only ones. Emma Watson chose her Mmaa Basket for her Vogue ‘What's in the bag’ interview.
The baskets are handwoven using ancestral techniques passed down through the generations by members of the Mmaa Social collective. 'Mmaa' means mother in the local dialect. Mmaa Social is a non-profit collective of more than 400 women, artisans handweaving beautiful baskets on the border of Ghana and Burkina Faso.
We know it's a challenge to find sustainable products, but more and more companies are starting to embrace this change. All our shopping ideas are hand picked by our team and we do appreciate some products may not be fully sustainable yet, but we believe supporting this movement for the conscious shopper is important right now.
